Our proactive approach to diabetes management identifies challenges to prevent problems from developing. That includes customized diabetes therapy to fit family needs for Type 1 and Type 2, as well as less common forms of diabetes like monogenic and MODY.

Our Young Adult Diabetes Transition Program help teens and young adults with diabetes transition from pediatric to adult care. Our goal is to ensure patients will be confident and prepared for the move to adult diabetes care.

Fertility and Reproductive Health Program

Many medical conditions and treatments may affect future fertility. Our comprehensive program provides education and counseling for patients who may be at risk for long-term fertility or reproductive health issues and provide fertility preservation options.

Metabolic Bone Clinic

The Metabolic Bone Clinic provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and management of various skeletal disorders, including Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and other congenital bone disorders, as well as acquired conditions that led to osteopenia and impair bone such as that seen with glucocorticoid use, immobilization and chronic renal, liver and other conditions.

Manmohan K. Kamboj, MD, is the Division and Section Chief of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Not every 6-year-old can tolerate getting pricked by a needle multiple times a day. It’s a good thing Jagger isn’t your average 6-year-old. He has Type 1 Diabetes and takes insulin every day through a needle to keep his blood sugar levels in a healthy range.

Age Today: 15 Years

Just two days after Kyla was born, she was already fighting for her life. She was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at birth.

Karson D

Read Karson's Story

Name: Karson D.
Condition(s): Diabetes Type 1
Age Today: 18 Years

Karson was being treated for a virus last year, yet he continued to get worse. In fact, he became so ill that his family took him to a local emergency room. But they didn’t even make it inside before Karson collapsed. His heart rate was 167 and his glucose was 1149.
